Silver

While continuing my silver theme in my new home, I am spray painting my desk, file tray and cork board.

I wanted to create a chevron pattern on my cork board. I didn't make it perfect because it will be covered by my calendar, paper ephemera and photos. More photos to come once, my office is complete so that everyone gets the full effect!

Below are my silver spray paint brushes. The vintage file trays given to me by Dani from http://www.ohhellofriendblog.com , the desk I found on the street for free and the cork board was given to me by my mom when I was in college. The photo shows that chevron design that I created and the other photo shows how my board looks now, after I pinned some of my favorite things from this year. I hope my craft projects have inspired you to buy some spray paint and give new life to your old furniture!

Update on my up-cycling tin project that I saw on Pinterest: it is complete and looks great on my refrigerator with some of my colorful and wacky pens! Anyone can make this quick craft, all you need are magnets and glue.

Step 1: Get an old tea tin.

Step 2: Purchase magnets to glue onto the tea tin.

Step 3: Use glue, Hot Glue or Gorilla Glue:

Step 4: Glue the magnets onto the back of the tea tin:

Step 5: Get some pencils and pens to put into the teat tin:

And you have your finished product, ready to be placed on your refrigerator:

Bruschetta

I thought that I would share one of my favorite dishes to make:

Ingredients:

3 large tomatoes, diced small
3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
2 tablespoons good extra-virgin olive oil
6 fresh basil leaves, sliced into ribbons
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
1/2 baguette, sliced into 1/2-inch rounds (about 14 slices)
Pepper and Salt to taste

Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Add the tomatoes, garlic, extra-virgin olive oil, pepper & salt, basil and balsamic vinegar to a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Let sit at room temperature while you toast the bread.

Slice bread and add to a baking sheet in a single layer. Toast in the oven until golden brown about 5 minutes. Top the bread with tomatoes and drizzle with remaining extra-virgin olive oil right before serving and you can also add pieces of prosciutto to your Bruschetta.

Soup Art by Andy Warhol

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Andy Warhol’s 1962 artwork, the Campbell Soup Company is selling limited-edition cans of Campbell’s Tomato Soup with pop-art labels inspired by original Warhol artwork, not only are these cans beautiful, they also include a quote by Warhol on the label with his image. It is a lovely homage to the artist that created a number of pieces with the soup company as the topic of his artwork.

Below you can view a video as to why this is art:
