The Corpse Flower

One of the most exciting parts of my job is getting to visit my place of work during major events! This event was The Corpse Flower!

This was before it bloomed, but it grew to be taller than 5 feet!! I have never seen a flower like this before. You can read about it, here on my organization's website.

It bloomed over the weekend and there was a short line into the conservatory, but it was such a thrill to see, personally I thought that it just smelled like moldy flowers... others agreed that it did smell like a corpse. The flower is native to Sumatra, Indonesia. Below is a close up on the pollination process, which you can read about on the link I posted above.

Antiques Roadshow

Great News: We got tickets to the Antiques Roadshow! It was exciting and we met some cool people with great stuff, but I can't say much as the filming is very "hush, hush". However I was able to take some quick photos without security seeing! Haha.

Above are our tickets, we needed one for each person and one for each item we were bringing. Below is a photo of something being filmed for the show. I'm not sure when it will be on TV, so I will keep everyone posted.

LA Printers Fair

This is the second time I've attended the LA Printers Fair, there is so much great stuff for any vintage fan, especially if you also printmaking enthusiast.I found a type case and some print making supplies for my Etsy Store. I'll write about my new supplies soon!

Cause for Creativity

The Santa Monica Museum of Art has an annual event called, "Cause for Creativity: Tour da Arts", being underemployed last year I was able to donate my time as a Volunteer. I meet some great people, friends and helped many Cyclists and Museum Patrons register for the event! This year I will be a rider and I am so excited to see what I missed out on because I was working last year.
