Upcoming Pop Up Shop in September

Margaret from Paper Pastries announced that she wanted to host shop owners' pop up shops at her stationary shop. I'll be her first shop there, I'll be having a special champagne cocktail and some special treats too. Be sure to visit, have some light refreshments and buy some vintage pieces for your home or gifts for your loved ones.

Recent Sales

I recently sold two vintage items earlier this month. I am also working on my wrapping and photography skills this year for a more cohesive look that reflects my branding and online presence. Not only do I include cute wrapping, I also add a thank you card, envelope, a free vintage charades card and my business card.

 I also sold the vintage trophy loving cup and I had a box and envelope that matched perfectly. The envelopes I have used are from Target dollar spot, the hamster card is also from Target in the stationary area, the heart sticker is from a local stationary store called, Paper Pastries and the striped wrapping paper is re-used tissue paper.

The beautiful vintage Celtic box also sold last week. I ended up making a custom box for this tin box since it was sturdy and not as fragile or heavy and the vintage items above.

New Vintage Items in the Shop

100th Sale!

This beautiful vintage 1950's cake dome just sold and I loved it so much. It'll be going to New York soon. I will say that I never though that I'd be selling 100 vintage items and still have more to sell. It's been an amazing four years and while it may not seem like much, when first started this shop, Sea Sand Vintage I was a student and now I've been working in my chosen career field for the past three years. Thank you to all my customers and blog readers, you have kept me going.

I also never thought that one of my customers would be the AMC's Award winning series, Mad Men. Who purchased my vintage finger cymbals for the Season 5, Episode 10 "Christmas Waltz" (Premiered May, 20 2012).

Just a look back to my first sale below, I really worked on my photography and I will continue to do so. I also, still have some fabric, but I've decided to sell the fabric specifically around the holidays and any actual in person sales at fairs or booths.

First 2015 Sale!

The Vintage Hair Dryer (Blue Handy Hannah) sold! This makes the 99th sale on Etsy for Sea Sand Vintage. This is so exciting, I never thought I'd make it to almost 100 sales in 4 years. Upcoming Listings

One of my favorite antique stores in closing, Down Home Antiques in Orange, California has always been decorated in such a beautiful way, however the sellers price their items very high and it would be difficult to re-sell on Etsy. But I did get the shoe mold above and the egg basket below (which I plan to keep myself).

The Jewelry Case, hairdryer and Electronic Typewriter are other recent acquisitions of mine, from Pasadena and Monterrey. 

New May Listings!

Finally two new items at Sea Sand Vintage. Also, I deleted some images from my inventory that has already sold. So I'm hoping for a Sea Sand Vintage 2.0. I have new DIY cards, instead of getting them from moo.com (which were lovely). But I thought I'd save myself some time and money and make my own.
Also, I'm keeping the blog the way it is now, because I'm not so sure people read much of it and there's no point in updating it for people that rarely read it due to the fact that I was gone for so long! Anyway, click on the images to check them out on

One Week to Go!

Actually, it's just 6 days away now from when I made this graphic. But I am very excited for this! I just need to organize the fabric for display and find some hangers for the purses also. Other than that, I am all set to go! Does anyone have any tips for me? I have been doing a lot of research on Etsy and youtube. I ave also been looking at various photos of booths on Flickr for the past three weeks.

Vintage Flea Markets

As an Etsy vintage seller I have always wanted to sell at some vintage market or craft fair. But I also don't want to sell at a fair that has actual serious sellers/collectors that do so for a living (I am only a part-time seller that does so for fun). I also don't want to sell at a huge market place where I can't talk to customers and enjoy the market myself. I am considering one in Pasadena, Downtown LA and Silverlake. I'll be scouting these markets to see which one I'd like to try to try out as a seller.

 

I decided to go to the Pasadena City College Flea Market to check it out and see if I want to sell there. I enjoyed the large variety of items for sale and while a lot of objects are one or a kind, these sellers sure know what they are selling and charge a lot for what they have. The flea market is outside in the parking lot and the three floors of the parking structure, which is great for sellers and buyers, since it's out of the California sun.

Sold this Summer
