Fabric in New Treasury

My Bright Red Woven Cotton Fabric was added to the Any plans for Labor Day weekend? Treasury by SCAVENGENIUS. I believe this is the first time that someone has added my fabric to any treasury, I am very happy to see that people are looking at my vintage fabric too.

Rainbow Treasury

Partyintheskydesigns created a Rainbow Treasury and she added the One Step Rainbow SX70 Land Polaroid Camera. It's always great to be a part of a treasury and I really appreciate that attention that the items in my etsy store gets!

Love for Sewing

While looking for some new vintage pieces for my store, I found some beautiful items, while they were too expensive for me to buy, I did take some great photos. Maybe one day I'll be able to afford these antique finds and sell them.

I thought I would post some photos of business cards that I have favored in the past and have since been sold.

Scales

After finding a very inexpensive scale, I decided to look and take photos of other scales while antique shopping.

Bikes + Art = Tour Da Art

I love bikes and my passion and career are in art. I was able to volunteer for the Santa Monica Museum of Art. I worked at the registration/ preregistration table. I am on the right hand side of the photo above, awaiting more cyclists to register and check off.

Here are some photos of the event, it was busy and fun. It was great seeing the Santa Monica community cycle and enjoy the arts. The events included, the visual arts at the Museum, Dance, Music and Performing Arts.

And now it's three or four?

My Mexican Cat Maraca was added to yet another Treasury, which is great! A big thanks to WhiteRabbit7 for adding my vintage item to her One last Summer fling Treasury and in her See you next Summer Treasury. I'm so happy this cat is being shown some major love!

Added to two Treasuries!

It's always great to be added in a Treasury and my cute Instant Collection of Glass Penguins were added to Just4EweShop's Treasury entitled, "cute, crazy, quirky, cuddly, quacky creatures!!!" I am very happy to my the penguins in great company with these quirky animals.

I found these adorable penguins years ago and I thought they made a great family.



And also, my Bachmann Electric Toy Trains were added to the Old Like Me! Treasury by westwardgifts. This is awesome, I am so happy people are loving my Vintage Treasures!

Mural Unveiling in LA

I attended the unveiling of the mural-canvas "Un Solo Sol" in celebration of the first anniversary of Un Solo Sol Kitchen. Local community leaders, artists, and local business owners were in attendance.
The art piece "Un Solo Sol" is co-authored by Rafael Escamilla and Carlos Ortez, founder of Un Solo Sol Kitchen. The art piece is a 5-foot square canvas forming a circle that depicts the Sun telling the history of humanity with respect to nourishment (body, mind and soul) and points the way towards the utopia that we must consider for the sustainability of life on Earth.




It was a really rewarding experience and the food was great! Delicious, healthy and unique. I enjoy this restaurant with a soul and a need for change in this community.

Studio Inpirations

Working on updating the studio. Below is what it currently looks like, an organized mess. Prior to opening the store, I had all of my sewing things in the pink container, after I used a basket and placed all of my vintage items in the pink container. Now there's some spillage onto the desk! All of my wrapping and shipping supplies were in the pink gift bag. Now they are in a larger white gift bag.


After seeing some of these lovely photos from flickr.com I hope to be inspired enough to reorganize the whole studio so that it holds all of my vintage goods and wrapping/shipping supplies. It will be an intense change to say the least.

New Items, New Items, New Items

15 to be exact! New fabrics, lace and vintage finds. Besides some of my favorite crystal animals, some great fabric pieces that I would love to keep, but I love finding homes for them is even more. My cat Duchess also makes a special appearance in one photo, she's the best 13 year old cat ever and she also loves vintage fabric.

Tanabata Festival

The Tanabata festival, also known as the "star festival", takes place on the 7th day of the 7th month of the year, when, according to a Chinese legend, the two stars Altair and Vega, which are usually separated from each other by the milky way, are able to meet. Was I surprised when on a trip to LA we ran into the festival! It sure was a great surprise and we enjoyed ourselves a lot!
